Designed like the human retina, the LMS camera mimics the spectral sensitivities of the Long, Medium and Short (LMS) cones of the retina. It has near perfect colors in any illuminant and 4.2 dB better SNR than Bayer in low light.

Contrary to popular belief, Hexa-deca Bayer, a Bayer pattern with 4×4 pixels of each color, is easier to demosaic and can actually produce higher quality full-resolution images than Quad Bayer.
